Biography
Laura Jobin-Acosta is a New York–based soprano whose work encompasses professional oratorio, choral and opera performance. A member of the New York Philharmonic Chorus since 2022, Laura also sings with the Bard Festival Chorale and the Unsung Collective. She is a longtime Section Leader and Soloist with Canterbury Choral Society and Calvary-St. George’s Episcopal Church, where she has been featured regularly in major sacred and concert repertoire.
As a soloist, Laura’s engagements include a reprise of the role of Clare in Adriano Ariani’s Oratorio di San Francesco (Canterbury Choral Society, Fall 2026), Haydn’s Seven Last Words of Christ (2025), Saint-Saëns’ Oratorio de Noël, Bach’s Magnificat, Handel’s Judas Maccabeus, Dvořák’s Mass, and Handel’s Samson (Dalila). Operatic experience includes the title role in Kris Kirk’s chamber opera Persephone, premiered at SUNY Purchase in 2019 during Laura’s graduate studies in composition. Internationally, Laura has performed Bach’s Mass in B minor in Vienna, Munich, and throughout Israel and Palestine with the International Choir for Peace.
