LAURA JOBIN-ACOSTA

Laura Jobin-Acosta is a composer and soprano whose artistry is shaped by her multicultural upbringing and global experiences. Guided by a profound sense of purpose, she is devoted to creating music that is both innovative and deeply beautiful, drawing strength from tradition while reaching for new forms of expression.

Laura’s mission is to help make people fall in love with music again. In a world that often values perfection above all else, she seeks to reimagine the musical traditions which have survived centuries and present them in a contemporary light that speaks to the world we live in today.

Laura’s sense of duality has shaped both her voice and her music. As a soprano and a composer, she’s always lived in two musical worlds at once, singing and writing often in conversation with each other.

Her diverse background has equipped her to pursue her music career with a determined and goal-oriented mindset. In recent years, her exploration has taken her to the Kennedy Center with Washington National Opera, to Brooklyn’s National Sawdust with Beth Morrison Projects, and to Opera America as a Composer-in-Residence.

Laura currently serves as Composer-in-Residence with Choral Chameleon in New York City, with a world premiere scheduled for November 2025. She is also collaborating with the Grammy-nominated vocal ensemble Lorelei, creating a new arrangement for their winter Frost and Fire tour.
